Our school purchased the technology curriculum textbooks for grades K-5 for use in our technology classes, as well as for purposes of helping the K-5 teachers integrate technology into their classrooms. The curriculum is based on ISTE standards, is very comprehensive and is easy to follow. Inside each book, there is a scope and sequence for K-5 grades listing individual skills, noting whether it is introduced, being worked on, mastered and/or connected to classwork so that you have a great overview of what should be accomplished for each grade level. Each textbook also has an extensive list of website resources, with references to websites for links and updates. An extra bonus is that you can subscribe to askatechteacher and receive free weekly technology tips and websites. This is our first year using this curriculum, but so far we are very impressed with all that it offers. The customer service at Structured Learning is second to none as well. They are more than willing to assist in any way they can, often going above and beyond what is normally offered by a company. Last year my job expanded to include teaching technology to grades 4, 5. &. 6 and I was in a panic with what to do. After much searching, I found these books. I bought one of the paperback versions for each of the grade levels. They were an invaluable resource. The authors are up to date with all of the latest technology. If you prefer PDF versions to download yourself, they have that also. I prefer the book version! The books have been such a help to me in the past years and I look forward to expanding my library to include all of the books.

Illegal Copy

I was quite excited when I found this computer program to use to teach a technology class to my daughters whom I home school. However, when I opened it today, I was very surprised to find this is a copied version. Every page in the book states "Illegal to Duplicate". However, all pages are black/white compared to the images shown on Amazon that are quite colorful. Needless to say, this is an illegal copy of the book.

I have not used the program yet, so I cannot comment on it's quality at this time.

I was ENORMOUSLY impressed with the quality of this textbook (and the entire series). I purchased the 7th grade version and implemented it in my 7th grade classrooms (as well as all the supplementary materials that the kids need) so I was curious to see how the 4th grade classrooms were doing with the Structured Learning curriculum. No surprise-- it has proven to be an superb success for them too. The kids love it, it is so well-organized that the teachers could implement it easily, it directly relates to the contemporary trends in the age group, it's fast-paced so no one gets bored... basically everything you could want! As an aside on behalf of the series, the curriculum is sequential so I especially loved seeing the 4th graders were getting a start on the skills they would need to demonstrate with greater proficiency once they got to my class. I can't say enough for this material and how much the kids love it. Give it a shot in your classrooms! You'll see the difference in your students' learning!

Amazing book, I used this to help my child ...

Amazing book, I used this to help my child become more familiar with the computer world. The projects and lessons here were easy to understand and easy to expand on if you should desire it. My kid loved it and learned an extraordinary amount...I just wish there were books like this out when I was a kid. I wasn't sure how to go about educating my child on computers, the most important piece of technology to be familiar with in the world, but this book has made it easy. My thanks to the author for their amazing book and the others like it. Will definitely buy them as my child grows. Amazing book, I highly recommend it to any parent or teacher out there whose children/students could benefit from this outstanding educational tool.
