Front Cover
Pneuma Springs Publishing, Jun 1, 2006 - Fiction - 185 pages
"Was it murder or was it an accident? If it was murder, who was responsible? Whatever it was, what are they meant to do about it?" Beaver's Brook Primary School is the subject of a justifiably scathing Ofsted inspection, which rips apart the school and its inhabitants, wrapping them in mystery and deceit. As an inspector is found dead in the staff room, the fragile lives of the teachers are held to scrutiny and ridicule. Their hopes and aspirations decompose beneath a tirade of no-holds-barred mockery, in which love, ambition, jealousy, passion, guilt and innocence collide with disastrous consequences. About the author (2006)

Bryony Allen is an English teacher and SENCo at a middle school in Suffolk, where she lives with her husband, four children and dogs. She studied English and Drama at Roehampton before going on to teacher training at Homerton college. She has always enjoyed writing but, until recently, was satisfied to keep it as a hobby. Following a traumatic Ofsted inspection, she decided to write her first adult novel involving the death of an Ofsted inspector. Subsequently, she decided to write for young adults; partly because of her experiences as a teacher and a mother but also as an antidote to disillusioned teenage pupils who declared that, “Reading is boring!” In her writing, Bryony injects the dark side that she likes to read about; so expect to find the paranormal mingled in with everyday life. Although she works full time, Bryony is available for interviews by email or phone.
