Sunni Morris

About the author

Sunni Morris was born in Houston, Texas. Most of her life was spent on the farm south of there except for the summer she spent with her grandmother in California. That summer instilled in her the desire to move there which she did later in her adult years. This was after spending five years in Alaska and two years in Oregon. The author is the oldest of seven children. She played the role of teacher and adviser to her siblings and was forever the artist, story teller and game creator or simply the paper doll maker as activities were constantly looked for to keep everyone entertained and occupied. While living in California she began to take her writing seriously and joined a writers group. At this time she started work on her first novel. Today she is always working on a story of some kind if she isn't reading or sewing. Her office is filled with books and she's a collector of faeries. They sit on the shelves among the books and inspire her to write magical tales filled with wizards, witches, ghosts, faeries and talking animals. The author's first novel, Haversham Hill is not the usual ghost story. This book was an entrant in the ABNA 2007-2008 contest. It was published in May 2008. The author's second novel was just published in October 2009. Sunni Morris has always wanted to write a medieval story. She finds that period in history quite fascinating with upheavel that can change things in a instant. The author is also an avid fan of all the King Arthur tales. The Medallion - Book One - The Prophecy is a story about two sisters born to peasants who get separated during childhood. The author had a lot of fun putting this on paper and tried to keep it as true to the time period as possible by doing extensive research. She has plans to continue this story. Saving the Rainbow is an adventure story for kids that was published in 2010. It is highly likely this tale will turn into a series. The author's first mystery book, The Next Target, will be published in winter of 2013 or spring of 2014. It is currently being edited. Also in the works is a children's book of faery tales and magical stories which should be out next fall. There will also be a book of childhood tales, recipes, anecdotes, etc. about growing up on a cotton farm in the 1950's. This book will be written in collaboration with one of the author's sisters and probably won't be made available on Amazon, unless there are requests for this family story. The author plans on writing another mystery soon. Stay tuned.
