The Slab

Deep within the woods, she drove to a cabin that she had rented under an assumed name. Everything she needed, had already been unloaded into the cabin one week prior. This was when she scoped the place out to see if it was the perfect place for her plan to unfold. On the way up the mountains, the roads winded, the wind was still, the sun burned hot until the trees got thicker. When night fell, with her window down most of the drive, a settle breeze brushed through her hair as she made her way to the cabin. She passed several cabins, but hers was deeply snuggled into the deepest place amongst the mountain woods. There were no lights except one, which shined slightly about the trail leading to her cabin door. Tonya had to walk several feet and she never requested that the light, that was out on the cabin door to be replaced. She waddled to the door, in fear not knowing what could possibly jump out at her or who could have followed her there. Tonya replayed how she would do it in her head over and over again. She was a doctor of death, but never had she been the one to do the killing; until now. Her plan was simple and the stage was set. The first rule was that when she saw it, she was not to look upon it or to get attached. Looking would equal getting attached and Tonya needed her emotions to be in check. She was very discreet, as not to bring attention to herself, especially since another cabin was about few miles away from hers. This is why she choose to drive in the darkness of night, hoping no one would notice her. No one needed to ever be able to say that she was there. There, that night, in the North Georgia Mountains. She had a rental, and she did not want her car traced, it would ruin her high profile career. It would change the way the world would view who she was for sure. Save her name at all costs, that was why she was here and doing what she was doing. She couldn’t have a black baby; her husband would ruin her if the child was not his. Back at the office she told her assistant that she needed to take some vacation days off to travel with her husband. She already knew that he’d be away on one of his many escapades that he took regularly with one of his many lovers to the south of France. Tonya knew this would be the perfect time to plan her procedure. So she did and she planned it well. Going a week before to drop off all supplies, which she had taken from the hospital and her office where she worked. Tonya always took things as her pregnancy developed and hid them in her house. Deceit was a part of her nature. Her life was one big deceit. She had everyone fooled into thinking that her marriage was a good one. When in fact it was just a role she played. Tonya had many run-ins with detective Terry Grey. He was a hunk of a man and he was single. The first time Tonya saw him, her eyes couldn’t help but notice his strong and muscular stature. He had smooth caramel skin and light brown eyes. He looked more like a model than a detective. Terry was the city’s leading detective and often handled the high profile cases that were handed to Tonya. There were many nights that they worked together, alone, to solve cases. They became very good friends and often Tonya found herself confiding in Terry; who soon fell in love with Tonya. The cases became rendezvous and sex just happened. Tonya, who never dating black men thinking that she needed a white man to solidify her image; soon fell in love also. And with a black man!
