Malik Salaam

Raised in Atlanta, GA, Malik Salaam was born and raised Muslim. His teenage years were troubled and he escaped the route of death and penitentiaries that he peers had taken by enlisting in the Navy. His inability to conform got him kicked out. But not before he discovered his talent for writing. Back in Atlanta, Salaam frequented spoken word venues and shared his well-received work on stages across the country. Eventually, he was invited to perform on networks like BET, The Black Family Channel, and HBO. His work was published in newsprint and anthologies. He performed in and co-wrote plays. His documentary, Lost in The Rubble, won film festivals and earned him positions for Congressional panel discussions. Salaam wrote, directed, and produced a feature film, Every Scar and Dimple, and a web series, Eternal. Sunnah is his third self-published body of work. Malik Salaam’s goal is to remembered as a master storyteller.
