Description

You know, you get it, the world is the only planet we have. Seems like we should pay a little attention to the way we treat it and the resources it provides. Really, no matter what you love to do – fish, hike, read, travel, watch TV, watch football, or watch the snow fall – almost all of our actions require resources from our planet.  Bu admit it, you’re getting tired of hearing all the same advice with that snarky attitude that “if you don’t do it my way the world will implode and it will all be your fault”.

Unlike other books on the market, this book builds on the realization that when it comes to sound environmental practices, one size does NOT fit all. For a significant number of people to adopt the lifestyle changes that will protect our planet, each needs to find a place to start—and for each household, that place might be different.

You Don’t Have to Wear Hemp Underwear is the first book to recognize the only way to make this concept work is to fit earth-friendly choices into your life – not changing your life to fit others choices. The author, Robin Pharo’s friendly humorous voice provides the overall narrative to guide readers step by step. With this book, living sustainable ceases to be a homework assignment and takes on the joy of adventure.

I was frustrated by the same Green advice with that snarky attitude that “if you don’t do it my way the world will implode and it will all be your fault”. So I decided to create a book, consulting firm and consumer website that provides straight forward, practical ideas without a lot of guilt. I should know, too. Currently I hold a number of high profile positions within the areas of green and healthy buildings. I am the Founder and President of Healthy Homes, a Green/Healthy Building consultancy firm in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. I am also President of the Treysta Group, LLC, a company dedicated to green business development and certification. Finally, I am Director of the Green Built Home Program, a program of the Wisconsin Environmental Initiate that supports voluntary Green Building programs for single and multi-family homes. For the NAHB, I assisted in their rollout of the National Green Certification program as a member of their local homebuilder association working group and I'm recognized by the NAHB Research Center in Washington, D.C., as a trainer for the program.
