Description

Born with a cleft lip to a mother who abandoned him at six months, it seems that the odds are against Billy from the start.  Chris, his father, must make the decision to leave his army career behind and accept the responsibility or have the child go into foster care.  Billy and Chris encounter immense challenges as they struggle to find love and acceptance in an unforgiving world. Rejected by all but his loving father, Billy B is thrust into a silent hell alone, branded a freak and a misfit.
It seems there is no help for the struggling single father and his son. It’s just them against the world. Stella, an unstable caregiver, not only endangers Billy, but creates havoc for Chris. Billy becomes the ultimate life spectator in a game of survival.  As the fear intensifies that their lives may be in real danger, Chris realizes that he must find a way to save himself and Billy, while still attempting to provide a stable home for his son.

The Case of Billy B is literary fiction dealing with a contemporary theme that grips the reader and asks the questions, ‘Do we determine our destiny?  Do we create our own reality?

Having been in an abusive relationship myself, I am fascinated with the whole issue of abuse and how it affects people differently. While chatting to someone at Hubpages.com where I also write articles, they shared a little bit about their history. I found what they said fascinating and used that for my basic plot which I developed and elaborated on so that I created a whole new story. i started off one way and then went off on a completely different tangent. I can do that because I'm a woman and a Gemini and that's the sorts of things we do.
