Description
"The Sixties" - a brief phrase that conjures up all kinds of amazing
images...unless, of course, you weren't there! It was a time when "free
love" was anything but, and there was a heavy price to be paid for
messing with "sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll." Find out what
coming-of-age in that magical era was "really" like in the outrageously
funny novel ESCAPING INNOCENCE (A Story of Awakening) by Joe Perrone
Jr. Meet David Justin, an Italian-Catholic, height-challenged youth,
desperately trying to escape the bonds of sexual repression and
adolescent innocence that dare to hold him captive in - yes, you
guessed it - "The Sixties." Experience them for the very first time, or
relive them again and again, but either way, for heaven's sake, don't
miss ESCAPING INNOCENCE (A Story of Awakening).
The Story Behind This Book
I was driving a limousine, selling real estate, and painting houses, when I read "All of My Friends Are Going to be Strangers," by Larry McMurty. It told of a "blocked" writer, who determined to write at least one paragraph a day. I adopted the philosophy, and my wife, Becky, bought me a half-dozen spiral notebooks. The rest, as they say, is history...
Praise and Reviews
KUDOS for "ESCAPING INNOCENCE" -- "Author Joe Perrone Jr. has written
the definitive 'coming-of-age' novel, with hare-brained characters like
those we all knew in our youth. Check your own 'innocence' at the door,
and start reading ESCAPING INNOCENCE - you won't be able to put it
down!" -- Rick Dawley, former Chief Operating Officer, Superstand
Entertainment Co., Houston,TX
"If you are a child of the sixties, you have to read this book! It's
filled with universal characters and experiences guaranteed to touch
every emotion possible. Don't miss this one." --Bob Walker, former CEO
Promotion Mechanics, Inc., a Division of Ogilvy & Mather Advertising
