Description

After almost thirty years of searching, Ravuth at last feels hopeful. He thinks about the last time he saw his parents and mischievous younger brother: when they were herded off like animals, along with the rest of his village, by the Khmer Rouge. What do they look like now? He can only imagine what they have been through. Where have they been living? Does his brother now have a family of his own? Will they remember him? His thoughts are in turmoil. His eardrums then pop and his stomach churns as the plane comes in to land.

Gripping yet amusing, Spice is an adventure not to be missed.

Ben Bakewell, more commonly known as Cake, would never have imagined that he would be sitting on an aeroplane next to his new Cambodian friend, Ravuth, who at last is going to meet his long lost family and, more importantly, find an elusive plant from which the most wonderful spice is created.

Cake’s life over the past few weeks has gone from one crisis to another. His fiancé has left him, his bakery business is failing miserably, and he has painful haemorrhoids.

He hopes his luck has changed when he comes across the incredible cake spice, which sends his heightened olfactory senses into overdrive. Glad he met Ravuth, though uncertain about travelling from England to Cambodia, he is happy to have the chance to find his perfect spice.

Maybe lady luck is at last smiling down on Cake...or maybe not.
