Snarly elves are my specialty. My scattered reviews consider, my take on elves different, even though conflict over magic is a cornerstone of their existence. The general tone of the reviews? My Half-Elven stories are fast-paced, thrilling, exciting, and engaging with strong characters. Ye More...

Description

During the chaos following the Rebellion that saved the Half-Elven from genocide, Lady Renna, the holder of Ren Creek, wants a peaceful life, but she gets caught in the struggle over who will rule the Marches.

When she refuses a powerful neighbor's suit -- because Lord Gorsfeld covets her lands at the confluence of the great southern rivers -- his men attack her villages. Renna must fulfill her duties to protect her people and find a way to get even with Lord Gorsfeld on her own terms.

You really want the back story? As a stripling Renna watched Mariah's attempts to discourage Gorsfeld's wooing. After the Rebellion was won, Gorsfeld sets his sight on his neighbor. Not only does she control powerful magic, but she holds the lands where the two great mountain rivers join to form the River Soleis that runs through his lands down to the seaport he controls. [The Foiling of Gorsfeld, a short story found on my website.] Renna also appears in my Far Isles Half-Elven work in process, Dark Solstice Turning Point, as an old lady400 years later when Mariah appears not much older than a stripling. Renna is one of the few who has the courage to treat the even more powerful Mariah as an equal. I just had to tell more of her story.
