Description

~~Private investigator and recovering alcoholic Bobbie Vale is hired to find a missing bride-to-be whose dark past exposes memories of domestic violence and molestation for Bobbie, memories she has long tried to suppress. But little does Bobbie know that this first case will lead her to her next case where there’s a missing pregnant bank president, a dangerous millionaire with ties to North Korea and a dead ex-husband whose body she is reluctant to claim. Things could not get any worse for Bobbie...could they? With the help of her sexy secretary, part-time body guard – and secret crush - Eddie Dillon, Bobbie must battle the demons of her dark past, dig through deadly lies and shameful secrets, and a closet full of shoeboxes to not only save her future, but to solve these two cases before all hell breaks loose in the small town of Stockton, California.

I love mystery novels (huge fan of Agatha Christie) and ever since I can remember, I've always written some type of mystery story. So, when I was in the Air Force at my permanent station in Hampton, VA, all I could think about was home (Stockton, CA) and I started writing a short story about a female private investigator named Bobbie Vale. She lived in my hometown and had all sorts of emotional issues. So, I started writing it and sharing my updates with my fellow airmen, even naming the antagonist after my favorite staff sergeant, Sgt. Lopez. He loved it!

pop_fan2005 ~ From the first paragraph, you will be enthralled! Rebekah Pierce is no amateur to telling stories and "Sex, Lies and Shoeboxes" is no exception.

The story features a female private detective who is hired to track down the fiancee of a some less than desirable client. Jam packed with twists and turns, it's not a pretty story; a feature that unquestionably works for Rebekah. It's gritty, witty and raw. Her storytelling style is as real as they come. You can actually hear her characters speak to you in a way that transcends your already-heightened awareness to the beyond. If you've read anything by Rebekah Pierce before, you know that "beyond" is the only place to be.

The book was delivered on Tuesday. I was finished reading that same night. It was impossible to put down. The ending will leave you speechless and wanting more. Ladies and gentlemen, "Sex Lies and Shoeboxes" is a must-read and should be at the top of your shopping lists (as well as a shoebox or two).
