I couldn't put it down! This book had me thinking about how I define my role as a mother. Additionally what expectations do I have on my spouse/partner? Are they reasonable and where do they stem from? My childhood? Past relationships?
Elle Young is courageous to share her personal story and inter feelings with her audience. THIS IS NOT A MAN BASHING BOOK! This is a story of a relationship, while it may have failed, it is about ownership, self reflection, accountability, growth, self worth, strength, weakness, shame, overcoming, independence, self preservation, forgiveness, and so much more.
You don't have to be unhappy with your relationship, nor do you even need to be in one to relate to her journey. I don't even think you necessarily even need to be a woman! Fathers can have insight on how they shape their daughters views on relationships.
POWERFUL!

A wonderful story of a woman's journey through a troubled marriage through self reflection and her relationship with God. Written in a way that even those not going through what she went through could relate and understand her emotions. I felt this story was more about the authors growth, self improvement and her relationship with God than a negative story about her husband. Well done!
