Slugged is part two of the trilogy A Book of Struggles (In the Form of Parables and Fables for Modern Times). We are re-introduced to William and Eve Tell. We see what happened when William Tell went to war, to return a veteran completely different than Vincent Seita.
Once again, a number of sub-plots weave themselves through the book. Among them are the two-line struggle in the pro-abortion/pro-choice movement, and a look at the anti- war movement of the 1960s.
Some people will say that Quentin Tarantino influenced Mr. Barysh. That isn't so. Mr. Barysh saw Pulp Fiction two years after finishing this trilogy.
