Description

Lionel is back in another Grand Adventure! Lionel's Grand Adventure: Lionel Turns the Other Cheek is a beginning chapter book for ages 7-10. Lionel has always wanted to go to summer camp, but will his mean old Mom let him? Even though Lionel is now familiar with the Three-Toed-Pot-Bellied Walbaun foot, its unpredictable nature takes him on another adventure of a lifetime. Join Lionel as he heads off to summer camp and discover the wonderful world of the magical Walbaun foot and the lesson it helps teach Lionel (again).

I loved following Lionel through his second adventure. Lionel is a very loveable character and it's easy to connect with him. Mr. Hewlett pulls the reader in with events that all kids can relate to, and then helps them to make healthy choices. I can't say that I enjoyed this book as much as the first one (maybe because the introduction of the three-toed potbellied walbaun foot was hard to beat), but it was definitely a good read! Looking forward to the next adventure!

This book is a great continuation of loveable Lionel’s adventures. This time Lionel convinces his overbearing mother to let him go to summer camp even though she thinks the idea is preposterous. What kid doesn’t want to read about summer camp? Lionel wanted to go because he knew a certain girl was going and of course to have some much needed fun. Despite finding out a neighborhood bully would be attending. He did have fun while he was there and Lionel left camp learning a very valuable lesson. I am looking forward to reading more in this humorous and entertaining series. I would be happy to share these books with my daughter when she is old enough.

My review for the first book in the series can be found here:http://www.goodreads.com/review/edit/...(less)

He's back and he's got his Three-Toed-Potbellied Walbaun foot with him. Will the "magical" charm help him out this time (do you remember what happened last time?http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...) or will it make things worse?

Lionel is excited about going to sleep-away camp for the first time. It'll be a good break from his mean mom and brother. He's been dreaming about it for so long that it's all he can think about (well, that and the lovely Carrie). He's sure it's going to be a great summer!

Oh, no, guess who Lionel has to room with at camp? None other than that bully, Troy! Lionel is determined not to let Troy ruin his summer. Maybe his "magical" charm will cooperate this time. Maybe...

Lionel Turns the Other Cheek is another wonderful beginning chapter book by Mr. Hewlett. He captures kids, both the nice ones and the mean ones, perfectly and always makes sure that Lionel and all kids reading his books learn valuable lessons about life and how to treat others.

It's a great book for children to read on their own but parents, grandparents, teachers, and librarians will also enjoy reading it aloud to the kids.

Welcome back, Lionel. I hope to see you in a new adventure soon! And thank you Mr. Hewlett for another wonderful book!
