Mississippi native D. Scott Meek spent the first 18 years of life in the Deep South and the next 20 years educated by the world as a member of the US Navy. Scott was an average student growing up, usually found staring out of the window drawing scenes or writing adventure stories. He moved to Navy cryptology and deployed to the Persian Gulf 13 times. He currently lives in downtown Baltimore in a small 85-year-old rowhouse, where he explores the rich culture of one of America's oldest cities and teaches at the nearby National Security Agency. He has written numerous short stories, but is finally fulfilling a life-long dream of following his imagination on its own journey. His first book, Dying Light, is scheduled for release in July of 2010.
