Roderick Benns

Roderick Benns was the odd kid in class who had memorized all the Canadian prime ministers in order. He was born in Peterborough and raised in Lindsay, the scenic Kawartha Lakes of Ontario, Canada. He has had a varied writing career spanning 24 years, with newspapers, magazines, Internet news sites and radio. Roderick is an award-winning journalist, having captured a 1st place national newspaper award in the 1990s for journalistic initiative through the Canadian Community of Newspapers Association. He is the author of The Mystery of the Moonlight Murder: An Early Adventure of John Diefenbaker published by Fireside Publishing House and The Legends of Lake on the Mountain: An Early Adventure of John A. Macdonald. As well, he has published Showdown at Border Town: An Early Adventure of Paul Martin, The Hero of Hopewell Hill: An Early Adventure of Richard Bennett, and The Wail of the Wendigo: An Early Adventure of Pierre Trudeau. Roderick was formerly Senior Writer with the Literacy and Numeracy Secretariat of the Ontario Ministry of Education. He is married to Joli Scheidler-Benns, a strong, supportive influence who originally hails from the U.S. Roderick has two magnificent children, Eric and Alexis.
