Amanda Kerns

I was born and raised in a small town named Urbana, Ohio. After graduating from Urbana High School in 1985 I went into the United States Marine Corps. After my active duty status ended I went back home and went to work. During that time I also became a volunteer Firefighter/EMT.

When I was a child I used to write little plays and make my brother and sister and cousins act them out! Then as a teenager I started writing poetry and what I liked to call song lyrics. I wanted to become the next Pat Benetar but very quickly discovered I did not have a very good singing voice, and I was way too shy to sing in front of people!

As an adult I enjoyed writing still, and continued. But my tastes changed to short stories and then longer stories started emerging.

I love to read. I have since third grade. Thank you Mrs. Harner for introducing me to The Boxcar Children series! I love getting wrapped up in the story and losing myself in what is going on in the book. I have a very active and vivid imagination, so writing is a great outlet for me! I love being creative!

Besides reading and writing, I also enjoy riding roller coasters, county fairs, crochete, hanging out and going out with friends, old and new! I love going to concerts and listening to music, and I love going for walks and hikes, and riding my bicycle. And most of all, I love God, my family and friends and the United States of America!
