Mark Gordon

Mark Gordon grew up in the seaport city, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and moved to Montreal in the nineteen-fifties. The three years he spent in Montreal, studying at McGill University, inspired him to write The Snail's Castle. He has authored two previous novels, The Kanner Aliyah and Head of the Harbour, one set in Israel and the other in Halifax. Gordon's poetry has appeared in numerous journals in Canada and the United States. For the past twenty-five years he has taught English to newcomers to Canada and has mentored novice teachers. He now lives in Toronto, Ontario, with his wife, Carol.
