Sarah Winter

My name is Sarah Ginter, and I write under the pen name Sarah Winter because….I like how it sounds. Pretty simple. I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Tim, since we were 19 years old, now over ten years ago. We have two beautiful sons, Evan and Max, and live in western Wyoming. We also have two Barred Tiger Salamanders named Fred and Creep, but they don’t do much. Like Perry the Platypus.

I love where we live and it shows in my writing. I love to write about this part of the world because of its rich history and gorgeous scenery. There is such beauty to be found in high altitude, thin air, and mountains. Some of my favorite places to visit, eat, and hike wind up in the things I put on paper, and I try to do them justice in every way I can.

I have always been a geek girl and fangirl, and love Marvel’s The Avengers, Doctor Who, Sherlock, The Walking Dead, and all things England. I tweet a lot, spend an inhuman amount of time on Pinterest, and I talk to myself even when I’m out in public. I’m a hardcore introvert who would  rather text back and forth 865 times than answer one stinking phone call, and I don’t answer the door during office hours. I want Liam Neeson to narrate my life, or possibly Samuel L. Jackson because sometime’s homegirl needs a well-pronounced ‘motherfucker’ thrown in there.

I trip, drop food on my clothes, and swear more than most truckers. I also make up silly songs, speak in foreign accents for no reason, and dance badly all day long. I’m fluent in movie quotes and can sing ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ word for word. It’s a valuable skill.

It’s hard these days but I try like hell to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and have never lost my ability to lose myself in a daydream.
