Pen White

Bitten by the writing bug at the age of ten, Pen is an avid reader in addition to being a prolific writer. A native Georgian she lived in Hollywood, California for a year and a half (pursuing Film Studies – an interesting distraction) and six weeks in Asheville, NC (attempting to get herself together).

Influenced by the world around her, Pen writes whatever comes into her fuzzy little red head (currently Vidal Sassoon Merlot Vibrant Red). She writes in no specific genre as she has a variety of interests and passions about which to write.

In addition to reading and writing, Pen loves movies and music, particularly the music of the 80s and prior. Again, her passions for movies and music are as eclectic as her writing and reading.
Not a huge fan of television she is, nonetheless, currently an avid follower of ABC’s Once Upon A Time television series. So much so, that this series inspired her to write the Sword of Tilk Trilogy and influenced the writing of Nero’s Fiddle, though it is hardly recognizable in any of those tomes.

Pen enjoys reading the works of Edgar Allan Poe, Agatha Christie, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, James Rollins’ Sigma Force series, Lindsay Buroker, Kathryn Harvey and Judy Mercer (may she rest in peace). A host of other authors grace her bookshelves, too numerous to mention. She has been known to reread books numerous times.

Pen currently resides in the Atlanta, Georgia area where she is staff to two felines.

Interview

1. Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am a native Georgian, currently staff to one feline. A writer from the age of ten, I write whatever comes into my fuzzy little red head. I survived a heart attack after completing The Sword of Tilk Trilogy. Exactly one year after the heart attack, I completed the rough draft for Nero's Fiddle.

2. Describe your book Nero's Fiddle in 30 words or less.

When the United States is crippled with an Electromagnetic Pulse attack, Captain Beverly Mossberg must get to Washington, DC to assassinate the terrorist before he strikes again.

3. What was the hardest part of writing your book?

Having enough time. There are never enough hours in the day to write as much as I would like.

4. What books have had the greatest influence on you?

Dean Koontz's By The Light of the Moon. After reading that book I knew I could write what went on in my own imagination. James Rollins' Sigma Force novels inspired me to write Nero's Fiddle - a novel with a little more action than I normally write.

5. Briefly share with us what you do to market your book?

Social Media - Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus. I tell everyone I meet about Nero's Fiddle.

6. How do you spend your time when you are not writing?

I work on quilts, work a full time job and sometimes I sleep.

7. What are you working on next?

I am currently working on a conspiracy novel and a science fiction series.
