Selena Haskins is a native Washingtonian who enjoys music, reading, spirituality, and spending quality time with her family. Selena's secret passion is playing video games. Selena was inspired to write ever since she was a little girl. She has penned many stories, poems, and essays throughout the years, mostly as a hobby. Finally, in 2013, Selena completed one of her life's goals by publishing her first novel, "A River Moves Forward." Selena has always shown compassion for the disenfranchised and been a lover of justice. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that she tackles issues of poverty, race, substance abuse, and the family dynamics in her story. By the same token, Selena infuses messages of hope, love, and forgiveness. She is currently working on the sequel tentatively titled, "Riding the Waves."
