Interview

1. Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am a mother to four fabulous kids. When I'm not carpooling or helping with homework, I'm a preschool teacher and the author of two romance novels.  I graduated from the University of Notre Dame and went to grad school at DePaul University.  I feel so incredibly fortunate that I get to spend my days with my kids and doing what I love - teaching and writing.

2. Describe your book ‘The New Ever After (The New Ever After Series)’ in 30 words or less.

The New Ever After is a sequel to Tripped Up Love.  It's about second chances  and finding love again. It's about friendship and learning to ignore what's not important.

3. What was the hardest part of writing your book?

The hardest part of writing a book for me is finding the time.  The ideas are all in my head and scattered on tiny pieces of paper on my desk but with four kids and a day job, time is precious.  Right now I start writing at 5:45, get the kids up and then continue writing after I teach and before they come home from school.

4. What books have had the greatest influence on you?

I've been influenced y Jane Austen's novels.  I'll never forget reading Emma for the first time and falling in love with it.  I like books that allow me to escape from my daily life.  They give me a break and don't make me think too hard.

5. Briefly share with us what you do to market your book?

I write a blog about my life and many of my blog readers are also readers of my books.  I try to blog twice a week.  I have built up a following on Facebook and Twitter as well.  I begin each day with a quote on Facebook to get the day started.  I also am an avid pinnner and spend a good deal of time on Pinterest promoting my book.

6. How do you spend your time when you are not writing?

When I'm not writing, I spend my time with my kids and husband. We go to the boys' baseball games and try to spend a lot of time outside.

7. What are you working on next?

I am working on the third book in The New Ever After Series and working on a stand alone book titled Mapping Magic that is almost done.
