Interview

1. Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

As a writer, I have written many different genres and lengths of stories over the course of my life. In high school, I submitted stories for our Nationally-acclaimed literary magazine ‘Echoes’, and was awarded and recognized upon graduation from the State of Maryland for my literary efforts. In college, I continued my passion for short stories and novels. Living on the East Coast of the United States near the Nation’s Capitol has helped me to bring these locations to life in my writing and provides great settings for my thrillers.

2. Describe your book ‘Moonlit Nights’ in 30 words or less.

A dark thriller that is part police procedural, part murder mystery and saturated with horror throughout that appeals to all genres while having an underlying supernatural theme.

3. What was the hardest part of writing your book?

While I have been blessed with a loving and supportive family, the hardest part of writing for me was finding the time to slip away from all the noise and distractions so that I could concentrate on working on the book.

4. What books have had the greatest influence on you?

Growing up I read a wide range of genres, however some of the authors that really influenced me and writing in general were: Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, Michael Crichton, Stephen King, Dean Koontz and Hunter S. Thompson.

5. Briefly share with us what you do to market your book?

The internet and its wide reach to potential readers has been a large part of marketing for me. Along with social media like Twitter and Facebook, I have found that the many blogs and websites that are utilized by people everyday are great places to have your work noticed. To follow all the latest, fans can keep up to date at my site Digital Ramblings at http://jacobparr.blogspot.com/

6. How do you spend your time when you are not writing?

When I’m not writing, I enjoy using my artistic side to draw, paint and create things with my hands. I’m an avid nature lover and love to travel to new places. Immersing myself in a place’s history and culture is something that I truly enjoy. I have been to almost all the states in the continental U.S. and the Bahamas twice and hope to eventually make it to every continent in my lifetime.

7. What are you working on next?

My next book that I am finishing is called ‘Tragedy’ and will be my most harrowing novel yet as journalist Jenny Blake aids a man whose pregnant girlfriend was just horribly murdered, a man she knows nothing about, in the pursuit of his lover’s sadistic murderer. The problem is that the killings have just begun. The psychopath is on a mission to rid the city’s streets of those he considers inferior.  For the working girls whose livelihood is centered on the streets of Baltimore, Maryland's Inner Harbor, work has never been so dangerous! A terribly wicked game has just begun at the hands of the serial killer who calls himself Tragedy.
