Todd Morgan

Interview

1. Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
My day job is being an airline pilot for one of the largest carriers in the US.  I am a husband of one, and a father of two, Zach and Gabrielle Morgan.  I am a black belt in tae kwon do, play basketball and enjoy hunting and fishing.  I am also involved with my local church.

2. Describe your book Two for Flinching in 30 words or less.
Beason Camp is a former Army Ranger, ex-policeman and a single father.  He is a private detective who takes on the case of his missing (and married) lover that leads to the search for his own missing wife who everyone assumes simply ran away one day.  The investigation takes him to the Dixie Mafia and dark secrets closer to home.

3. What was the hardest part of writing your book?
The hardest part in writing Two for Flinching (besides the actual typing) was the conclusion.  I knew how I wanted it to end, but getting all of the key players in the key place took much consideration and planning.

4. What books have had the greatest influence on you?
John Steinbeck and Ernest Hemmingway were the classic influences in my writing.  The modern authors I most enjoy are Lawrence Block, Robert Crais, John Sandford and Robert Parker.

5. Briefly share with us what you do to market your book?
The first thing I did to market my book was enlist BookBuzzr.  From there I pushed it on Facebook and word of mouth.

6. How do you spend your time when you are not writing?
Most of my off days are spent with my children, taking them to and fro across the earth.  I also enjoy working out and--surprise--love to read.

7. What are you working on next?
I am currently working on the next Beason Camp novel.  I am also in the editing phase of The Amalekite that I hope will be out in the next few months.  It is about a soldier returning from Afghanistan and stumbling into a cartel drug war.
