Allen MacDiarmid

Born in 1932 we moved a lot, about every 3 years. I attended the US Naval Academy, class of 1955. I served aboard the USS Stoddard (DD-566), then attended flight school in Pensacola and Corpus Christi. Next I was assigned to VR-21 in Barber's Point, HI. My next assignment was in VS-29 flying the S2 aircraft. I accumulated 150 carrier landings, mostly while aboard the USS Kearsarge (CVS-33). I ended my naval career in VT-28, Corpus Christi and Kingsville NAAS, both in Texas. I spent 29 years at IBM San Jose, CA as a Quality Assurance Engineer, specializing in Experiment Design before retiring at age 55 to go cruising in my Freedom 28 Cat Ketch "Broad Reacher". After more than 30,000 nautical miles over the bottom I have taken up RVing and now reside in a house with my mate Jean in Bardstown, KY. I have taken up writing and have published 3 articles on Amazon using the KDP platform. I am presently at work on a book about my navy adventures.
