Kim Richardson is the author of Marked (Soul Guardians Book 1), an Urban fantasy written for young adults. Since childhood, Kim developed a wild imagination and surrounded herself with fantasy novels and movies like, The Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal. She later studied in the field of 3D Animation, and became an Animation Supervisor for a VFX company. For many years she worked on big Hollywood films and stayed in the field of animation for 14 years. Since then, she has retired from the VFX world and settled in the country where she writes fulltime.
Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I
used to work in the VFX world as an Animation Supervisor. I've recently retired
from the film industry to concentrate on my writing.
Describe your book ‘Marked’ in 30 words or less.
It's
about a teenage girl who suddenly dies and wakes up in a strange new world as a
guardian angel.
What was the hardest part of writing your book?
To me it was adding romance without it being corny.
I wanted it to feel real.
What books have had the greatest influence on you?
I
have to say the Harry Potter books, and His Dark Materials, by Philip Pullman
Briefly share with us what you do to market your
book?
I try to offer it for free on several ebook sites
to try and grab the attention from readers. I also blog and go on blog tours to
help spread the word.
How do you spend your time when you are not
writing?
Usually, i'm
reading, and talking long walks with my dogs.
What are you working on next?
I'm working on the last book in the Soul Guardians series called, Horizon. I hope to have it finished by November.
