Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Gary Zackery is first a Christian, and he is an entrepreneur. Gary operates his own firm, StartRight. He is a business consultant and executive coach as well as a Faith Based Anger Management Specialist. He also has a remodeling and Handyman business, Mr. Fix It. Gary is intrinsically immersed in House Church. He rides motorcycles together with the Christians he meets with in home meetings as well as with the Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA). He is involved regularly in prison ministry. His hobbies include drag racing, fishing, and the rare occasion of being home to piddle around the house. Describe your book ‘Stephen’ in 30 words or less.

Christ saved me while I was in my sin and delivered me from myself, the world, and His enemy, Satan. The life I live I live to the Lord Jesus.

What was the hardest part of writing your book?

My book started out as a short story. I was trying to help a young man through some problems and could not say what needed to be said in a few pages. It was very difficult to continue writing with no end in sight, not knowing when I began that it was to end as a book. I believe the Lord spoke to my heart as I labored over Stephen and He used my desire to help a troubled youth to bring out a story that is helping hundreds of youths today.

What books have had the greatest influence on you?

Stephen Lawhead’s Celtic writings influenced me most, as well as Tolkien and Ayn Rand.
